It was a normal day. Just strolling around and playing I-spy and all of a sudden the weather changes. It gets breezy and then it pours.
It was windy rain and the climate was lovely. The breeze blew our hair away . Reminding me of so many things I did as a kid.
One of the many was making Paper boats and float them in the gushing rain water. The paper getting soaked up by the pouring rain and sinking just like our little heart did.
Thought of letting my little girl experience the same thing. So searched my Hand bag for some paper and the only paper I could find were the receipt and the bills from various stores which were to be thrown in the bin. Anyways the waste paper came handy and started tearing those into desired shapes while daughter dearie was observing carefully my every move. I folded and folded the paper in different ways until A paper boat was made. My Girl was delighted to see the boat made out of nowhere. She started singing various Nursery Rhymes which she knew about boats.
Row row row your boat was one of the English rhymes others were Gujarati one which is Our Mother tongue.
She was delighted to see them flow and ran behind them to catch them but her excitement turned into disappointment as soon as they started to sink. My poor baby got sad.
Cheered her up later of course.
Hours later when she again recollected her Paper boat experience and she wanted to make them so inside our Home we made boats of paper again but the rain had stopped so this time we let them float in a big Red Bucket while she sat down and observed them till they sunk.
She was happy at least the boats weren't going out of sight. Soon we became bored of seeing them float round and round in the bucket so daughter dearie took a tumbler and poured water on it and said "Mummy rain water soaked our boats ". Lets do some Puzzles now. Kids they get bored of doing the same thing so fast.
The day ended but the memories that we made was precious.
Cherished moments.
